Industry Specific ComplianceThe Mumbai Port Authority (MPA) on December 26, 2025, issued a notification approving an amendment to the footnote under Clause 3.1(A) of the Schedule of Docks Wharfage Charges on Goods, in exercise of powers under Section 27(1) of the Major Port Authorities Act, 2021. The amendment was approved by the Board of Mumbai Port Authority vide Board Resolution No. 156 in its meeting held on December 5, 2025.

As per the notification, wharfage charges for Iron and Steel cargo handled at the Offshore Container Terminal (OCT) shall include a convenience fee of 30%, as specified under Serial No. 13 of Clause 3.1(A). This addition clarifies the applicable charges for such cargo and ensures transparency in the tariff structure levied by the Port Authority.

In accordance with Clause 4.7 of the Tariff Policy, 2021, the revised provision has been published and has come into effect from December 23, 2025. The amended charges shall remain valid for the current Scale of Rates (SOR) period, i.e., up to November 25, 2028, unless revised earlier.
